Disclaimer: If this name offends someone, please stop reading this blog! This is not for you!!! I know there will be some Christian who will have their pants in a bunch or be offended because I said ghetto ministries.

Definition of Ghetto: it's a part of a city in which members of a minority group live, especially because of social, legal or economic pressure. The term was originally used in Venice to describe the part of a city to which Jews restricted and segregated.

Who would Ghetto Ministries’ include? Anyone who feels like they just don't belong. It would be for anyone looking to grow closer to God or for someone who is far from the heart of God. It would be for someone with their heart in the right place but always makes mistakes and either says or does the wrong thing! It would be for anyone who can laugh at themselves and shortcomings know they are not perfect and doesn't try to be. For someone who know matter how hard she tries she just can't be sophisticated and can never measure up to other peoples expectations. For someone who just wants to be real, talk about real life issues and dig deeper into their own personal lives, laugh, cry and support each other with their dreams. For someone who is tired of playing church, talking the churchy language and living a life trying to please people! It would be for any ordinary person who knows they were born for something extraordinary but just needs a little help getting there. For someone who loves Christ and just wants to live a life pleasing Him and nobody else!

Maybe I have lost my mind! But, I know there are people out there that fit this description and if this is you, hang on tight because God has something big in store!!! I’m just messing around with the name ghetto, even though I seriously like it! He has been stirring something inside of me for years. I’m feeling like it’s just about time to step out and step it up!! If you are ready to be real, get real, grow closer to Christ and live a life everyday on purpose, then I look forward to learning and growing with you. I'm not really sure how it's all going to unfold but I do know this ministry will definitely be for you!!!

I know I'm so ghetto! This speaking ministry will be to help those Christian and who feel like they are restricted and segregated to step out and be free! For the non-believer to be real, learn more and fall head over heals in love with Christ.

Please pray for me as I listen to God as I put my everyday ghetto lesson and conference calls together!

Bringing Light to the Matter will be where I share, talk and discuss much deeper issues!

I pray for your ministry all the time (not every day, but a lot!) I can't wait until we are no longer ghetto and Christ is EVERYWHERE in EVERY HEART and proclaimed!!

Why Home Education?

There wasn't just one reason why we decided to home educate our kids. The reasons for each one of our kids were different. I will tell you, as weird as this may sound to some, it was a call on our life. We knew and felt God leading us to do something completely different than the majority of the world and how we were raised. It wasn’t easy at first because of all the negative comments I received from family and friends. Thankfully, I had a few people in my immediate family that were so supportive and the one person besides God and my husband that has helped me is my mom! My dad wasn't on board at first, but now supports Home Education 100%

There is no wrong or right way to home educate. It's really about building a relationship with your children, knowing each one, and what makes their soul come alive! I will be blogging more on Home Education as my focus on this blog will be geared more towards issues mom's face on a daily basis, and my journey and lessons I've learned about Home Education. We love it and have witnessed firsthand the fruit of trusting and listening to God. Home Education does work and truly has been a blessing in our lives!

A little info about my kids!

My oldest daughter, Makenna is going to be 13 years old this September. She has a passion for serving the Lord and does so with her gifts and talents as a gymnast. She also has many other interests like arts and crafts, music, drama and reading. She plays the piano and clarinet as well. Her goal is to make it to the 2016 Olympics in Brazil. She knows with God and hard work all things are possible. She loves hanging out with her family and friends, and enjoys watching sports with her dad! She is very wise for such a young girl! She has a great head on her shoulders and when I think how she is going to be 13 years old and what the world says about teenagers, I have to disagree. I love being around her and couldn't be more proud of her.

My son, Markus, is our second child. He and Makenna both express themselves inwardly. They take everything in and process it before making any decisions, which they get from their dad! Markus has a passion for karate, and his goal is to be a black belt by the time he is 12 years old. I know he is going to do it! He has an incredible memory, and he is really good at math. He enjoys playing chess and beats me all the time! He also enjoys wrestling , sparring and watching sports with his dad. Swimming is another favorite pastime, and this year he will either play trumpet or drums! He hasn't decided yet. He is growing into such a beautiful Godly young man!

My daughter, Marcia, is our third child. She is her mother all the way! Mark calls her KJ! Markus and Makenna are more like their dad in certain areas, while the younger two are more like me. Life without Marcia would be boring. She is not afraid to express herself, and you know exactly how she is feeling or what she is thinking about! Even though she is very bold and has a zest for life, she is more sensitive then all my kids and dealing with her is completely different from everyone else. She loves ballet and we have found a beautiful dance studio that teaches ballet and worship dance. She is learning how to glorify God through the art of dance. She has amazing motor skills, just like her older sister, and can do pretty much anything she puts her mind to, accept it definitely needs to be fun! She will be giving swimming a try this year, and she also plays the recorder. She loves the Lord, and singing and dancing for Him! She really gets a kick out of pointing out when I have disobeyed God! She loves being homeschooled as so do her siblings.

Finally, the fourth is our youngest daughter, Marie. She is still little but has a big personality already! All of our kids have strong personalities! She loves her siblings, swimming and thinking she is older than two years old! She always wants to hang out with them,and when she can't she sure does cry! She is the baby of the family, and the kids treat her like a princess! We are so excited to see what God has in store for her!

I could write on and on about the kids with whom God has blessed us! They are by far not perfect, and parenting is not easy, but they are the love of our lives. We hope they always know we love them, God loves them and HE has big plans for their lives!

About my hubby!

My husband and I have known each other since we were in the 4th grade. We went to school together and played on the same basketball team, with my dad being the coach in elementary school! I fell head over heels for Mark in High School. I remember telling a friend of mine at the end of our senior year that I was going to marry him! As much as I love him, our marriage hasn't always been rosie! We have gone through many fights, disappointments, made many mistakes, and truly had to learn how to love and forgive each other. We are constantly growing closer together, as God has helped heal our relationship and ourselves. We are living proof of God's miracles! He is the most amazing man and father I know. I could write a book just on him! He graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He was a pitcher for MSU, but hurt his arm his junior year. I sure did think he was sexy in that baseball uniform, and I still do! He is in management for a baking company, and just recently became a real estate agent, working for my dad part time.

He loves sports and has brained wash the kids to love MSU too!
